« X-Planet : Google Maps Flash Mashup»

We finished of a fairly ambitous job for 20th Century Fox recently to promote the recently released movie - Xmen3 The Last Stand. Basically it was targetted for MySpace users and allowed them to pin-point them selves on a Map within a community of Xmen fans or mutants. The maps where provided by Google and Windows Maps and I am pretty sure for the first time ever Windows Maps ‘Birds Eye View’ (Love It!!) has been ported to Flash.

Beside that the paticipants of the site could get embed code for a Xplanet flash badge which linked back to their xplanet profile and vice versa. It was moderately sucessful - biggest downfall was lack of promotion (politics).

Again it was a solo Flash developer project and the sweet design was done by Ron (Ronchy to those who know him well). Php dev was done by our Brett.

This project invloved some long hours and I could of spent forever tweeking the animations and graphics on this site but unfortunately had only a couple. Beside all the techy stuff to do it was tight enough already before losing sleep over easeIn or easeOut. I any case I will shortly post up source as2 version of the map engine I built.
