Hey Leigh,
That sounds like a great idea but unfortunately I am longer in contact with this client because I don't work for the agency back in Aus any more.

G'day Shane - great job with the application, I think it's fantastic.

Would the application be easy to tweak to allow an API of sorts, to generate hyperlinks to Remote Record items? I'm sure FOXTEL would love it if all the TV blogs started adding Remote Record buttons...

Anyway, I've sent this suggestion to FOXTEL but the agents I encounter never quite seem to grasp what I'm on about ;)

Man you guys did great trying to integrate these 2 as they are usually a great mess, Telstra & Foxtel especially with the internet and by the sounds you got it sort of working. I cannot even get a proper working remote from Foxtel after 4 years of waiting.

They say I have to buy the remote as the remotes wear out and it is suppossedly part of the agreement that you have to replace them. All this hassle and they did not even install Foxtel digital properly AND charge over $1300 a year for it.

To help out others like me out I have setup various pages on and about Foxtel one such is
<a href="http://www.tecacentre.net/FOXTEL_INFO.htm" rel="nofollow">Foxtel info</a> Hope it helps.

It's kind of both - Mozilla for not gracefully handling broken https and Foxtel for not adhering to the site requirment of using https. Even though I have made the agency I no longer work for (Soap) aware of this with the solution of sticking to only https content in the pages it's still not resolved.

I would have to say that this is one of the best flash apps I have used on-line. Only real criticism is that it doesn't appear to work with the official release of Firefox 3.

Hi Richard,
This is because FOXTEL has embedded some content for tracking on this page which is not using the https method and this is breaking the SSL connection. I have found that the beta version of Firefox is not flexiable with these types of scenario's.

Hey Joe
I am not 100% sure on the timeouts as mentioned above another company dedicated to FOXTEL dealt with the backend I just did the frontend work. I just tried on my machine and didn't get any timeout scenarios with about 30 mins of using the tv guide. If the problem always happens I would suspect it's something on your system blocking the data calls which must be done through HTTPS due to protecting data, if not always I know FOXTEL is going through a site redesign so this may be causing the issue but I am not involved with the FOXTEL site redesign.

Interesting to find you. I too have the timeouts and cannot connect to the tv guide at work at all. I have all necessaries enabled on my notebook... cookies, flash, etc. but nogo. It might be a secure and clever app, but it requires the user to leave themselves wide-open! I think there may be an issue with modems as testing ip security at grc.com shows *total* stealth on all ports at work, yet at home I have several ports that 'respond' thus not total stealth and can connect sometimes. Same notebook both locations. Using Firefox, XP Pro, ZoneAlarm. What's the problem do you reckon?
